# The Firearms (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1992, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is made only for purposes corresponding to those of section 1 of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1992.
It empowers the Secretary of State to extend the period for which firearm certificates are granted or renewed.
