# The Firearms (Amendment) Rules 2026, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 29th September 2026
The Secretary of State makes these Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 26A(1), 26B(1), 27(2), 28(2) and 53(1)(a) and (b) of the Firearms Act 1968.
