# The Firearms Rules 1998, Introduction: Introductory text


ARMS AND AMMUNITION
Made 5th August 1998
Coming into force 1st September 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 7(1), 9(2), 13(1), 26A, 26B, 27(2) and (3), 28(2), 33(1), (3) and (5), 37(1), 40(7), 53, 55(1) and 57(4) of the Firearms Act 1968 and section 17(2) and (4) of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Rules:
