  "text": "In Schedule 4 (awards on death: additional provisions), in Part 1 (adult dependent relative’s special pension)—\n(a) in paragraph 1, for “and 3” substitute “, 3 and 4”;\n(b) in paragraph 3, omit “, which is reckonable as pensionable service,”;\n(c) after paragraph 3, insert—\n“4. Where the deceased was employed as a retained firefighter but not as a regular firefighter at the time of death, paragraphs 1 and 2 are to apply with the modification that for any reference to final pensionable pay there shall be substituted the product of the formula—\nA x B/C where—\nA is the amount of pay the deceased would have received had he or she been a whole-time employee of the authority;\nB is the period in years of pensionable retained service; and\nC is the period in years of his relevant service.”",
