# The Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (England) (Amendment) Order 2008, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(3)
This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 60 of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004.
As required by section 34(5) of that Act, the Secretary of State consulted such persons as she considered appropriate before making the Order.
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government makes the following Order:
