# The Fishing Vessels (Safety Provisions) (Amendment) Rules 1976, Introduction: Introductory text


MERCHANT SHIPPING
SAFETY
Made 16th March 1976
Laid before Parliament 24th March 1976
Coming into Operation 15th April 1976
The Secretary of State, after consulting with the organisations referred to in section 7(2) of the Fishing Vessels (Safety Provisions) Act 1970, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1(1) and 2(1) of that Act and section 427 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 as substituted by section 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Act 1949 and amended by section 9 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1964 and now vested in him and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Rules:—
