# The Fishing Vessels (Safety Provisions) Rules 1975, Article 85: General requirements for liferafts


(1) Liferafts carried in any vessel to which these Rules apply shall comply with the requirements of Part I of Schedule 9 to these Rules if they are inflatable liferafts and Part II of the said Schedule if they are rigid liferafts.
(2) Any such liferafts which are required to comply with Part I of Schedule 9 to these Rules shall be surveyed at intervals of not more than 12 months provided that in any case where this is not reasonably practicable, such interval may be extended by a period not exceeding three months.
