# The Fixed Penalty (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 2009, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 53 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and after consultation in accordance with section 88(2) of that Act with such representative organisations as the Secretary of State thinks fit.
