Explanatory note

This Order amends the Fixed Penalty Order 2000, which prescribes fixed penalties for fixed penalty offences. The Fixed Penalty Order 2000 is amended by replacing the fixed penalties table in the Schedule to that Order with the table in the Schedule to this Order.

Three offences and their penalties are added to the fixed penalties table. These are a fixed penalty offence under section 143 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 with a penalty of £200; a fixed penalty offence under section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 with a penalty of £120; a fixed penalty offence under section 47 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 with a penalty of £60. The existing fixed penalty offence under section 33 of the Vehicle and Excise Registration Act 1994 is amended in this table to provide for a penalty of £60.
