# The Fixed Penalty (Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2009, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st April 2009
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 84 and 88(4) of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.
The Secretary of State has consulted with such representative organisations as appear appropriate in accordance with section 88(2) of that Act.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State makes the following Regulations:
