  "heading": "Short title and extent.",
  "text": "(1) This act may be cited as the Friendly Societies Act 1984.\n(2) Section 1 and subsections (1) to (3) and (5) and (6) of section 2 of this Act do not extend to Northern Ireland.\n(3) Her Majesty may by Order in Council direct that sections 1 and 2 of this Act shall extend to the Isle of Man or any of the Channel Islands with such adaptations and modifications, if any, as may be specified in the Order.",
