# The Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order 1995, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order increases in England and Wales the monetary limits specified in section 20(3) and (8) of the Gaming Act 1968 (c. 65) and described in articles 2 and 3 of the Order.
The Order also increases in England and Wales the maximum amounts permitted—
(a) to be taken by way of the sale of chances; and
(b) as the aggregated amount of value of prizes,
on any one determination of winners in gaming for prizes at licensed club premises under section 21 of that Act.
