# The Gas Act 1986 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1986, Note: Explanatory note


This Order brings into operation the following provisions of the Gas Act 1986, namely—
(a) on 18th August 1986, section 1 and Schedule 1 (the Director General of Gas Supply) and sections 65 (financial provisions) and 68 (short title, commencement and extent); and
(b) on 23rd August 1986, section 2 and Schedule 2 (the Gas Consumers' Council) and sections 63 (restrictions on use of certain information) and 64provisions as to orders).
