# The Gas (Meters) Regulations 1983, Regulation 2: Interpretation

Extent: E+W+S

In these Regulations—
“the Act” means the Gas Act 1972;
“diaphragm meter” means a meter constructed so that it contains a flexible partition;
“meter examiner” means a meter examiner appointed under section 30(3) of the Act;
“modified prototype” means a prototype which was examined by a meter examiner prior to modification.
