Article 9 Transitional arrangements in respect of the first chair of the General Council in 2009

Notwithstanding article 8(1) and (2), the person who was president of the General Council on 31st December 2008 shall, if reappointed to serve as a member of the General Council from 1st January 2009, be appointed by the General Council to serve as the chair of the General Council as constituted on 1st January 2009 for a term of six months.
