# The General Teaching Council for England (Constitution) (Amendment) Regulations 1999, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the General Teaching Council for England (Constitution) Regulations 1999 to enable the Secretary of State to appoint the first chairman of the Council before their establishment. After the Council’s establishment, subsequent chairman will be elected by Council members.
