  "long_title": "This Order, which is made under section 8 of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998, provides for the establishment of a body corporate to be known as the General Teaching Council for Wales (“the Council”) on 1st September 2000, to exercise the functions conferred on them by the Act with effect from that date. The Order also applies, in relation to the Council, the provisions of section 1(2) and (4) to (9) of, and Schedule 1 to, the Act with effect from 30th December 1998.",
