# The Genetically Modified Organisms (Deliberate Release) (Wales) Regulations 2002, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 31st December 2002
The National Assembly for Wales, being designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to the control and regulation of the deliberate release of genetically modified organisms, acting in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the said section 2(2) and by sections 106(4) and (5), 107(8), 111(1), (4), (5), (7) and (11), 122(1) and (4), 123(7), and 126(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, having consulted the Food Standards Agency in accordance with section 126(5) of that Act and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Regulations:—
