  "text": "GOVERNMENT ANNUITIES\nMade 29th October 1968\nLaid before Parliament 6th November 1968\nComing into Operation 7th November 1968\nWhereas it appears to the Treasury that the annuity tables in force for the purposes mentioned in section 33(3) of the Finance Act 1962 have ceased to be appropriate or sufficient in respect of calculating the amounts of annuities when the average price of £100 of 2½ per cent. Consolidated Stock is under £40:\nNow therefore the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 33(4) of the Finance Act 1962 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:—",
