  "heading": "Improvement grants",
  "text": "(1) In relation to a dwelling of a description set out in Tables 1 and 2 below there are prescribed—\n(a) for the purposes of section 472(2)(a) of the Act (conversion of a building of three storeys or more), the amounts set out in Table 1, and\n(b) for the purposes of section 472(2)(b) of the Act (other cases), the amounts set out in Table 2.\n(2) In Tables 1 and 2 below—\n“category A” applies to any dwelling which on the date on which the application for the grant is approved is covered by one or more of the following descriptions:—\n(a) it is in a housing action area;\n(b) it is or forms part of a house in relation to which the local authority have served a notice under section 189(1) (repair notice in respect of unfit house) or section 264(1) (notice of unfit premises beyond repair at reasonable cost) of the Act and the relevant works consist of or include works which if executed would contribute towards rendering the house fit for human habitation;\n(c) it is in need of works of repair of a substantial and structural character and the relevant works consist of or include such works;\n(d) it is a dwelling for a disabled occupant and the relevant works consist of or include works needed to meet a requirement arising from the particular disability from which he suffers; and\n“category B” applies to any dwelling other than one to which category A applies.\n(3) In paragraph (2) a reference to a dwelling includes a reference to a dwelling which is to be provided by the conversion of a dwelling.\nTABLE 1\nPrescribed amounts for the purposes of section 472(2)(a)\nDwellings in Greater London>\nDwellings elsewhere\nCategory A\nCategory B\nCategory A\nCategory B\n£\n£\n£\n£\nPART I\nDwellings which are not listed buildings\n19,600\n12,700\n14,500\n9,400\nPART II\nDwellings which are listed buildings of the following grades:—\nGrade I\n21,680\n14,920\n16,540\n11,540\nGrade II*\n20,820\n14,060\n15,680\n10,680\nGrade II\n(Unstarred)\n20,200\n13,440\n15,060\n10,060\nTABLE 2\nPrescribed amounts for the purposes of section 472(2)(b)\nDwellings in Greater London\nDwellings elsewhere\nCategory A\nCategory B\nCategory A\nCategory B\n£\n£\n£\n£\nPART I\nDwellings which are not listed buildings\n16,900\n11,000\n12,600\n8,100\nPART II\nDwellings which are listed buildings of the following grades:—\nGrade I\n19,040\n13,160\n14,620\n10,220\nGrade II*\n18,180\n12,300\n13,770\n9,360\nGrade II\n(Unstarred)\n17,540\n11,660\n13,130\n8,720",
