# The Grants to the Churches Conservation Trust Order 2008, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State, with the approval of the Treasury, makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 of the Redundant Churches and other Religious Buildings Act 1969 and now vested in him:
In accordance with section 1(4) of that Act, a draft of this instrument was laid before and approved by a resolution of the House of Commons.
