# The Greater London Authority Elections (Amendment) Rules 2026, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 21st April 2026
Laid before Parliament 23rd April 2026
Coming into force 15th May 2026
The Secretary of State makes these Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 36(2A) of the Representation of the People Act 1983.
The Secretary of State has consulted the Electoral Commission in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(d) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
