# The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Order 2020, Article 64C: Maritime: failure to comply with condition of emissions monitoring plan


(1) A maritime operator is liable to a civil penalty where the maritime operator fails to comply (or to comply on time) with a condition of an emissions monitoring plan, contrary to paragraph 13(2) of Schedule 2A.
(2) The civil penalty is—
(a) £20,000; and
(b) a daily penalty at a daily rate of £500 for each day that the person fails to comply with the condition, beginning with the day on which the initial notice is given, up to a maximum of £45,000.
