# Higher Education and Research Act 2017, Section 121: General interpretation


In this Act—
“notice” means written notice (and to “notify” means to give written notice);
“the OfS” has the meaning given by section 1;
“primary legislation” means—
(a)an Act of Parliament;
(b)an Act of the Scottish Parliament;
(c)a Measure or Act of the National Assembly for Wales;
(d)Northern Ireland legislation;
“secondary legislation” means an instrument made under primary legislation;
“UKRI” has the meaning given by section 91.
