  "text": "(1) The lending institutions recognised for the purposes of section 445 (assistance for first-time buyers) are—\nan authorised deposit taker\nan authorised insurer\n. . .\nlocal authorities,\ndevelopment corporations,\nthe Development Board for Rural Wales,\n. . .\n. . .\n. . .\n. . .\nSwansea Building Society\nAbbey Life Home Service Limited.\nAbbey Life Mortgage Securities Limited.\nAbbey Life Residential Loans Limited.\nGeneral Portfolio Finance Limited.\nRoyal London Homebuy Limited.\nAbbey Life Mortgage Finance Limited,\nAbbey Life Mortgage Loans Limited,\nCIS Mortgage Maker Limited\nMortgage Express Ltd.\nHalifax Loans Limited\nBNP Mortgages Limited.\nSun Life of Canada Home Loans Limited\nHalifax Loans (No.2) Limited\nHalifax Loans (No.3) Limited\nHalifax Loans (No.4) Limited.\n(2) The Secretary of State may by order made with the consent of the Treasury—\n(a) add to the list in subsection (1), or\n(b) direct that a named body shall no longer be a recognised lending institution;\nbut before making an order under paragraph (b) he shall give an opportunity for representations to be made on behalf of the body concerned.\n(3) An order shall be made by statutory instrument.",
