  "text": "(This note does not form part of the Order)\nArticle 2 of this Order brings into force on 1st August the following provisions of the Housing Act 1996—\nsection 2(7) and (8)\n(power to add to the permissible purposes of registered social landlords),\nsection 5\n(criteria for registration of social landlords),\nsection 7\nin so far as it relates to specified paragraphs of Schedule 1 (maximum amounts payable by way of fees, expenses etc. and accounts),\nsection 9(3)\n(power to consult relating to consents for disposal of land by registered social landlords),\nsection 17\n(supplementary provisions relating to a tenant’s right to acquire a dwelling),\nsection 28(4)\namendment to section 53 of the Housing Act 1988,\nsection 36(1) to (6)\n(guidance to registered social landlords)\nsection 51\nin so far as it relates to specified paragraphs of Schedule 2 (schemes for investigation of complaints),\nsections 52 to 54, 55(2) and (3) and 56 to 64\n(general provisions relating to social landlords),\nsection 55(1)\nin so far as it relates to paragraphs 6 and 9 of Schedule 3 (sale of Corporations' loans portfolios).\nArticles 3 and 4 brings into force certain other provisions in so far as they confer a power to consult, to make determinations, to give consents and to delegate functions.",
