# The Housing Act 1996 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1996, Article 2: Commencement


Section 167 of the Housing Act 1996 shall come into force on 23rd October 1996 for the purposes of requiring a local housing authority to consult on an allocation scheme prior to its adoption and enabling them to adopt the scheme.
