# The Housing Act 1996 (Consequential Provisions) Order 1996, Article 2: Interpretation

In this Order—
“subordinate legislation” has the meaning given in the Interpretation Act 1978;
“the 1985 Act” means the Housing Associations Act 1985; and
“the 1996 Act” means the Housing Act 1996.
