  "text": "(1) The regulator may pay to or in respect of appointed members—\n(a) remuneration, and\n(b) travelling and other allowances.\n(2) The Secretary of State must determine rates and eligibility criteria for payments under subsection (1).\n(3) If the Secretary of State considers that there are special circumstances that justify the payment of compensation to a person on ceasing to be an appointed member, the regulator may pay such compensation as is determined by the Secretary of State.",
