  "heading": "Power of local housing authority to supply furniture to housing association tenants.",
  "text": "(1) A local housing authority may sell, or supply under a hire-purchase agreement, furniture to the occupants of houses provided by a housing association under arrangements made with the authority, and may buy furniture for this purpose.\n(2) In this section “hire-purchase agreement” means a hire-purchase agreement or conditional sale agreement within the meaning of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.\n(3) This section does not apply where the housing association is —\n(a) a private registered provider of social housing, or\n(b) a registered social landlord (for which corresponding provision is made by section 22 of the Housing Act 1996).",
