# The Housing Benefit (General) Amendment Regulations 2000, Regulation 2: Amendment of regulation 5 of the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987


In regulation 5 of the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987 (circumstances in which a person is or is not to be treated as occupying a dwelling as his home) after paragraph (4) there shall be inserted the following paragraph–
“(4A) Where a person is required to reside in a dwelling which is a bail hostel or probation hostel approved by the Secretary of State under section 27 of the Probation Service Act 1993, he shall not be treated as occupying that dwelling as his home.”.
