This Order amends the Immigration (Exemption from Control) Order 1972 (“the principal Order”), made under section 8(2) of the Immigration Act 1971 (“the Act”).

Article 4 of the principal Order exempts specified classes of person from the provisions of the Act applicable to those who are not British citizens, except any provision relating to deportation. This Order amends Article 4 of the principal Order to add new specified classes of person, namely eligible employees of the Taipei Representative Office and their family members.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
