  "text": "(1) Subject to the provisions of this section, the Secretary of State may make to any person carrying on a business in Great Britain a grant towards approved capital expenditure incurred by that person in providing works in Great Britain for use for the carrying on in the course of that business of any process for or incidental to the searching for, or the extracting or getting of, coal, oil or other minerals, brine, peat or natural gas.\n(2) Works provided in any area designated under section 1(7) of the Continental Shelf Act 1964 shall be treated for the purposes of this section as provided in Great Britain.\n(3) Subject to any order under section 7 of this Act, the amount of any grant under this section shall be twenty per cent. of the expenditure in respect of which it is made, except that it shall be forty per cent. of the said expenditure so far as it qualifies as development area expenditure in accordance with Schedule 1 to this Act.\n(4) No grant shall be made under this section to any of the bodies mentioned in Schedule 2 to this Act.\n(5) The reference in subsection (1) of this section to providing works does not include a reference to providing works by leasing them from another person.",
