# The Insolvency (Amendment) Rules 2009, Rule 2: Citation, commencement and interpretation


In these Rules—
“the principal Rules” mean the Insolvency Rules 1986 (any reference to a numbered Part or Rule is a reference to a Part or Rule so numbered in the principal Rules unless the context otherwise requires);
“the Act” means the Insolvency Act 1986 (any reference to a numbered section being a reference to a section of that Act).
