  "text": "(1) The Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1996 are amended as follows.\n(2) In regulation 140(1) (meaning of “person in hardship”)—\n(a) in sub-paragraph (g), after “physical” insert “or mental”;\n(b) in sub-paragraph (j), for “hardship.” substitute “hardship; or”;\n(c) at the end of sub-paragraph (k) insert “; or”;\n(d) after sub-paragraph (k) insert—\n“(l) is a person who is homeless within the meaning of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 or Part 2 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987, as the case may be.”.\n(3) In regulation 141(2) (circumstances in which an income-based jobseeker’s allowance is payable to a person in hardship), for “paragraph (d)(ii) of subsection (2)” substitute “paragraph (b) of subsection (2A)”.\n(4) In regulation 146A(1) (meaning of “couple in hardship”)—\n(a) in sub-paragraph (d), after “physical” insert “or mental”;\n(b) at the end of sub-paragraph (g) insert “or”;\n(c) at the end of sub-paragraph (h) insert “; or”;\n(d) after sub-paragraph (h) insert—\n“(i) either member of the couple is a person who is homeless within the meaning of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014 or Part 2 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987, as the case may be.”.",
