# The Kiribati Independence Order 1979, Article 8: Prerogatives and privileges of the Crown


Where under any law in force in Kiribati immediately before Independence Day any prerogatives or privileges are vested in Her Majesty those prerogatives or privileges shall, as from that day, subject to the provisions of the Constitution, vest in the Republic.
