# The Land Registration Act 1986 (Commencement) Order 1986, Note: Explanatory note


This Order brings into force on 1st January 1987 the Land Registration Act 1986. This Act simplifies and modernises three areas of the law of land registration: conversion of title, registration and protection of leases, and the method of determining priority of dealings in certain equitable interests in registered land.
