# The Landfill (Scotland) Regulations 2003, Regulation 9: Classification of landfills


Before granting a landfill permit, SEPA shall classify the landfill as a–
(a) landfill for hazardous waste;
(b) landfill for non-hazardous waste; or
(c) landfill for inert waste,
and shall ensure that the classification is stated in the landfill permit.
