Section 56 Repeal of sections 54 and 55

If it appears to the Secretary of State that, as a result of the passing of any enactment after the date of this Act, it is appropriate that sections 54 (Insulation against noise) and 55 (Orders for insulating new buildings) of this Act should be repealed, he may make an order repealing those sections.

An order under this section shall be made by statutory instrument and may contain such transitional, consequential and saving provisions as may be appropriate.

An order under this section shall not be made except on an application by the Executive.
