  "heading": "Licensing authorities",
  "text": "(1) In this Act “licensing authority” means—\n(a) the council of a district in England,\n(b) the council of a county in England in which there are no district councils,\n(c) the council of a county or county borough in Wales,\n(d) the council of a London borough,\n(e) the Common Council of the City of London,\n(f) the Sub-Treasurer of the Inner Temple,\n(g) the Under-Treasurer of the Middle Temple, or\n(h) the Council of the Isles of Scilly.\n(1A) In this Act, “London licensing authority” means each of the following licensing authorities—\n(a) the council of a London borough,\n(b) the Common Council of the City of London,\n(c) the Sub-Treasurer of the Inner Temple, or\n(d) the Under-Treasurer of the Middle Temple.\n(2) For the purposes of this Act, a licensing authority’s area is the area for which the authority acts.",
