# The Local Authorities etc. (Miscellaneous Provision) (No. 2) Order 1974, Article 14: Confederation of the Cinque Ports


The district council, town council or charter trustees for any area being a port, antient town or corporate limb of the Confederation of the Cinque Ports shall exercise the functions in relation to such Confederation which were immediately before 1st April 1974 exercised by the corporation for such area.
In this article “town council”means the council of a parish having the status of a town by virtue of a resolution under section 245(6) of the Act.
