  "heading": "Mayoral power to convene meetings with local partners",
  "text": "(1) The mayor for the area of a combined authority may convene meetings with local partners to consider relevant local matters.\n(2) In exercising the function of convening meetings, a mayor must have regard to any guidance issued for this purpose by the Secretary of State.\n(3) If a mayor notifies a local partner that the mayor intends to convene a meeting under this section with that local partner, the local partner must respond to the notification.\n(4) In responding to a notification given by a mayor, a local partner must have regard to any guidance issued for this purpose by the Secretary of State.\n(5) In this section—\n“local partner” means a person specified, or of a description specified, in regulations made by the Secretary of State;\n“relevant local matter”, in relation to the mayor for the area of a combined authority, means a matter which relates both to—\n(a)the area of the combined authority, and\n(b)any aspect of any area of competence set out in section 2 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026.",
