  "text": "(1) This rule provides an overview of the application of this Part.\n(2) Where the returning officer is the co-ordinating returning officer, the following rules apply—\n(a) rule 64B (attendance at proceedings);\n(b) rule 64C (preliminary and general duties);\n(c) rule 64D (separation of ballot papers etc.);\n(d) the rules in Chapter 2 (ascertaining the result).\n(3) Where the returning officer is not the co-ordinating returning officer, the following rules apply—\n(a) rule 64B(1) and (3) to (8) (attendance at proceedings);\n(b) rule 64E (preliminary and general duties);\n(c) rule 64F (opening of containers etc.);\n(d) the rules in Chapter 2 (ascertaining the result).\n(4) In this Part—\n(a) references to the principal area counting agents are to the counting agents appointed for the purposes of the principal area election;\n(b) references to the other counting agents are to the counting agents appointed for the purposes of any relevant election;\n(c) references to the principal area election agents are to the election agents appointed for the purposes of the principal area election;\n(d) references to the other election agents are to the election agents appointed for the purposes of any relevant election.",
