# The Local Elections (Wales) (Amendment) Rules 2026, Rule 2: Interpretation


In these Rules—
“the 1983 Act” (“Deddf 1983”) means the Representation of the People Act 1983;
“the Communities Rules” (“y Rheolau Cymunedau”) means the Local Elections (Communities) (Wales) Rules 2021;
“the Principal Areas Rules” (“y Rheolau Prif Ardaloedd”) means the Local Elections (Principal Areas) (Wales) Rules 2021.
