These Regulations amend the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004 (Remuneration) Amendment Regulations 2025, which in turn amend the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004 (Remuneration) Regulations 2007 (“the 2007 Regulations”).

Regulation 2(2)(a) and (b) amends entry (a) in the new tables to be substituted into regulations 7(2) and 9(3) of the 2007 Regulations. Regulations 7(2) and 9(3) deal respectively with the maximum amounts of remuneration payable to Civic Heads and Senior Councillors.

Regulation 2(2)(c) sets new levels of remuneration for councillors who perform the role of conveners or vice-conveners of joint boards.
