Article 10 Performance indicators for environmental services

The performance of waste disposal authorities in exercising all their functions shall be measured by reference to indicators 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 12 in Schedule 8 to this Order.

The performance of waste collection authorities in exercising all their functions shall be measured by reference to indicators 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 in Schedule 8 to this Order.

The performance of London borough councils, metropolitan district councils, non-metropolitan district councils and unitary authorities in exercising their functions under Part IV of the Environment Act 1995^f1 in respect of air quality, shall be measured by reference to indicator 1 in Schedule 8 to this Order.

The performance of principal litter authorities in exercising their functions in respect of litter and refuse shall be measured by reference to indicators 7 and 11 in Schedule 8 to this Order.

In this article “principal litter authority” shall have the same meaning as in section 86(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990^f2.
