Regulation 2

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires—

• “the regulations of 1963” means the Local Government (Compensation) Regulations 1963^f1 ; and

• “regulation” means regulation contained in the regulations of 1963.

Unless the context otherwise requires, any reference in these regulations, or in the regulations of 1963 as amended by these regulations, to the provisions of any enactment shall be construed as a reference to those provisions as amended or re-enacted by any subsequent enactment.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
