  "heading": "Early entitlement to retirement benefits: ill-health",
  "text": "Regulation D7 of the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for regulation D7(1) the following—\n“(1) Subject to the following provisions of this Part, where a member—\n(a) ceases on or after 28th March 1997 to hold a local government employment by reason of being permanently incapable of discharging efficiently the duties of that employment by reason of ill-health or infirmity of mind or body, and\n(b) has a statutory pension entitlement,\nhe is entitled—\n(i) to a standard retirement pension, and\n(ii) to a standard retirement grant,\nwhich are payable immediately on his ceasing to hold that employment.”.",
