  "heading": "Dissolution of an integrated transport area",
  "text": "(1) The Secretary of State may by order dissolve an integrated transport area and abolish the ITA for the integrated transport area.\n(2) The order—\n(a) must make provision for designating an authority to be a local transport authority for the territory previously comprised in the integrated transport area for the purposes of section 108(4) of the TA 2000, and\n(b) may transfer functions to that authority from the ITA which was formerly the local transport authority.\n(3) Provision made by virtue of subsection (2) may designate different authorities for different parts of the territory.\n(4) The reference in subsection (2)(a) to an authority does not include—\n(a) a combined authority established under section 103 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 , or\n(b) a combined county authority established under section 9(1) of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.\n(5) Subsection (2) does not apply to a territory or part of a territory that becomes—\n(a) the area or part of the area of a combined authority by virtue of an order under section 103 or 106 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 , or\n(b) the area or part of the area of a combined county authority by virtue of regulations under section 9(1) or 25(1) of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.",
