# The London Cab Order 1989, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order increases the fares payable for the hiring of a motor cab in the Metropolitan Police District and the City of London in respect of all journeys beginning and ending there. This is achieved by substituting a new paragraph 40 (scale of fares for motor cabs) – see article 3.
